Post a Day Fail

Well here I am. Nearly 2 months and a half late on my last entry. I have given up on my post a day resolution of 2011. What have I been up to lately?

Well, in short: work. The job at Lee University has been really rewarding. Working with faculty, helping them achieve their goals for the classroom and possible expansion with technology has been challenging at best.

I am relearning Access so I can build a database. I’ve looked through Lynda.com tutorials and didn’t find what I was looking for, now I working through a textbook from the same publisher I learned Access back for Office 2003. We’ll see how that goes.

The last few days I have been given the day off because I have been ill. How ill? Well, I went into the Health Clinic because of a sore throat. I left (after a chest x-ray somewhere else) being diagnosed with PNEUMONIA!

Yes, Pneumonia. The same disease that sparked my awful year-end tragedy of 2009. This time, I am glad not to be experiencing any pain while breathing, just shortness of breath. I am pretty much over the fever, just dealing with a sore throat (still) and some aches and pain.

What is in store for me? Stay tuned…

Communication Sucks

I am using a post idea from 2 days ago to write this post. It is pretty tolling to make these posts, but I want to try and get through at least half the year posting once a day. That doesn’t necessarily turn out right, but I do write some, but never finish the actual post. I do however post them on the day they were supposed to go out, so I am half true to my word.

I’ve begun my first full-time ever. It’s interesting after so many years of working at my own pace, I now work at the pace of someone else. This will definitely take some time getting used to it; but I think I can manage. I have my first full 7-hour work day tomorrow. Let’s hope I can deal.

Full Day

Today was a full day. I began the day in Cleveland, TN and ended the day in Buford, GA. I had an important talk that I was somewhat dreading at Duluth, but all turns out well.

For the time being, I am keeping my job at Duluth. I will continue to make edits after my job at LeeU. It’s a “we’ll see how far this goes” method. I am perfectly find with this. With WordPress 3.1 coming out soon the new Duluth template will be mack’ed out and time for peace again. Until I work in the Red Clay update to accommodate the new Calendar release.

I got to spend the evening with family, which is always a treat. Moments like these will be spread even further apart now that I have a full-time job up at Lee University.
